What makes
your machine more expensive?
There are many small CNC machines on the market today that are
less than $5000. |
We have tested or have had
customers test a lot of the machines on the market and the
biggest issue is ACCURACY. We would love to sell a machine in
this price range and we have personally purchased around 10 of
these machines, but when we sell a product it needs to be able
to make templates that are very accurate and very consistent.
These machines DO NOT PROVIDE THE ACCURACY NEEDED for making
templates.
We could lower our standards but you, as the customer, would not
be happy with the end result. |
Do you use
a Setup Stand or Test Stand? |
If you use either a setup
stand or a test stand, you will be using a scope that is
accurate to within .001". What is the use of having such an
expensive piece of equipment, but then purchase a template maker
that CANNOT and WILL NOT produce templates that are accurate
enough. It will immediately be obvious that the templates are
not going to be as accurate as the equipment you are grinding
the knives for. |
Why is
accuracy important on templates? Pride in your mouldings |
If you pride yourself in the
quality of your mouldings (and you should) our machine will
produce templates with smooth surfaces that enhance the quality of the mouldings.
That should be the end goal because when a poor quality template is placed on a profile grinder, the stylus of
the grinder duplicates any ripple or rough surface in the
template. Other template makers will not give you the same
smooth finish that you will get from our machines. |
Ease of Use |
Our software is designed
specifically for making templates. If you use an existing CAD
program, we can tell you what you need to turn the drawing into
templates. We can help you with the drawing setup. |
Experience
- We Know What We are Doing |
We have 25 years experience in
making templates and teaching users how to make templates. Most
CNC companies you call will not know things like:
- what AXIAL CONSTANT is
- what a pressure shoe is
- what a template is used for
- how to run a profile...or
- what the fence on the moulder is.
Bottom line.....We speak your language. |
The
Not-So-Smart Option |
Lets say you purchase a
generic, cheap CNC machine. You place the order and feel like
you saved a few dollars.
Then in a few weeks you receive a box. You open the box and put
the nice-looking object on your desk. Then what?
- You have to install software, but you will not know how to use it.
- You will have to find a clamping system that does not distort the
templates
(most pinch the plastic and it bows up)
- you will have to find the correct plastic (most plastic companies don't
know what a CNC
machine will cut and the finish will be terrible if it even
cuts)
- you will have to find bits that give you a small radius, perfect finish
and do not snap
Finally you will make a template and then you will realize after
all the time you have invested, the machine produces inaccurate,
garbage templates. You probably will not be happy BUT you will
have a nice-looking boat anchor on your desk that you saved a
few dollars on. And.. you only wasted a few days, right? Did
that really save you any money? |
The Smarter
Option -
30 minutes to perfect templates |
Buy your machine through CNC
Technology.
Yes, the system will be a little more, but we will send the
machine, you call us and we walk you through everything,
step-by-step. Within 30 minutes of opening the box, you will
have a finished template - ready to go on the grinder - and any
one of your employees can run the machine. |
Wise Advice |
If these facts don't convince
you to spend a little more for a better system, hopefully this
quote will help:
"It's unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too
little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that's
all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything,
because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it
was bought to do. The common law of business balance prohibits
paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you
deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the
risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for
something better." - John Ruskin |
